Cynthia Zenner
Comprehensively Trained Pilates Instructor
Scientifically-trained with degrees in Chemistry and Geology, Cynthia had a career in Environmental Consulting in Atlanta GA prior to discovering the wonders of Pilates. Always athletic, by her mid 50’s she had developed several musculoskeletal imbalances especially from years of competitive fencing and long bicycle tours in the USA and Canada. Severe hip pain led her to physical therapy, and ultimately to Pilates.
Immediately feeling positive changes in her body (just performing footwork on the reformer!) convinced Cynthia to seek an intensive Pilates training program. She chose The Pilates Center (thepilatescenter.com) classical training from Boulder CO (through Host Studio in Atlanta), completing their Intermediate Teacher Training Program in 2018.
Cynthia and her husband Phil moved to beautiful Sequim WA on the Olympic Peninsula in July 2018. She is very grateful to be able to teach in a fully-equipped classical pilates studio here in Sequim at Perfect Balance. Making Pilates foot correctors apparatus, and working towards more fully functional feet, has led Cynthia to complete The Foot Collective
(thefootcollective.us) Guide Certification weekend in 2024. She is now pursuing their Pro designation.
Cynthia loves sharing the unique benefits of classical Pilates and seeing the positive changes happen when people commit to this extraordinary movement system. She believes that when anyone is more comfortable in their body they can freely pursue their gifts and talents and share them with the world. She is fascinated with the therapeutic value of Pilates in helping to rebuild a fully-functional body.
Cynthia enjoys singing with the NorthWest Women’s Chorale, the Port Angeles Symphony Chorus, hiking, kayaking, swimming in lakes and oceans, traveling, birdwatching, and studying the body.
