Gina Senz

As the founder and owner of Perfect Balance Pilates, Gina Senz brings a unique background and a personal understanding of how movement can transform everyday life. Her career began in radiology, working with MRI, CT, mammography, and DEXA scans, before she transitioned into information technology. Years of sitting, crouching, and working around desks left her feeling physically imbalanced and frequently in pain. Her introduction to Pilates came through a gifted exercise book, sparking a curiosity that led from instructional videos to mat classes and eventually to the Reformer, where she discovered a lasting passion for the Pilates philosophy. Inspired by the difference it made in her own body, Gina pursued 600 hours of comprehensive apparatus training and earned her Pilates certification through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). She later became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2012 and continued her education through TRX and other specialized training. Today, Gina combines her extensive experience with a keen eye for movement patterns, helping clients improve their alignment, build strength, and develop greater flexibility and balance. One of her greatest joys as an instructor is hearing clients share how Pilates has made everyday activities, from hiking and gardening to moving furniture, feel easier and more comfortable. Through Perfect Balance, Gina has created a welcoming space where thoughtful instruction, varied movement, and personal attention help people feel stronger, move with confidence, and enjoy life more fully.

Cynthia Zenner

Scientifically-trained with degrees in Chemistry and Geology, Cynthia had a career in Environmental Consulting in Atlanta, GA prior to discovering the wonders of pilates. Always athletic, by her mid 50’s she had developed several musculoskeletal imbalances, especially from years of competitive fencing and long bicycle tours in the USA and Canada. Severe hip pain led her to physical therapy, and ultimately to pilates.  Immediately feeling positive changes in her body (just performing footwork on the reformer!) convinced Cynthia to seek an intensive pilates training program. She chose The Pilates Center (thepilatescenter.com) classical training from Boulder, CO (through Host Studio in Atlanta), completing their Intermediate Teacher Training Program in 2018. Cynthia and her husband Phil moved to beautiful Sequim WA on the Olympic Peninsula in July 2018. She is very grateful to be able to teach in a fully-equipped classical pilates studio here in Sequim at Perfect Balance.  Making pilates foot correctors and working towards more fully functional feet has led Cynthia to complete The Foot Collective (thefootcollective.us) Guide Certification weekend in 2024. She is now pursuing their Pro designation. Cynthia loves sharing the unique benefits of classical pilates and seeing the positive changes happen when people commit to this extraordinary movement system.  She believes that when anyone is more comfortable in their body they can freely pursue their gifts and talents and share them with the world.  She is fascinated with the therapeutic value of pilates in helping to rebuild a fully-functional body. Cynthia enjoys singing with the NorthWest Women’s Chorale (and is current board president), the Port Angeles Symphony Chorus, hiking, kayaking, swimming in lakes and oceans, traveling, birdwatching, and studying the body.

Lily Laird

Lily discovered her love of movement at a young age through dance and acrobatics. She began teaching dance at 19 and spent more than 13 years sharing her passion with students. After experiencing symptoms from autoimmune and joint disorders, Lily stepped back from teaching to focus on her own healing and recovery. During physical therapy, she was introduced to Pilates and quickly embraced it as a way to rebuild strength, stability, and mobility. As her personal practice deepened, so did her passion for Pilates, eventually leading her to pursue teacher training. Lily has completed two comprehensive Pilates training programs and is certified through Balanced Body. To deepen her knowledge and understanding of Pilates for therapeutic movement she completed a variety of specialized courses including Pilates for scoliosis, chronic and autoimmune conditions, hypermobility, pre/post-natal, pre/post-op breast cancer rehabilitation and many more. She also earned a 200-Hour Yoga certification and TRX certification while exploring different movement and healing modalities. Lily deeply believes in the transformative power of movement and understands firsthand how it can reshape both the body and the mind. Pilates has been an integral part of her own healing journey, and she is passionate about helping others experience its benefits and reconnect with their bodies.

Chrissy Elliot

Chrissy holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from California State University, Chico, and trained in STOTT Pilates Mat and Reformer through Bodycenter Studios in Seattle. After ten years of practicing Pilates and six years of teaching, she has developed a supportive, approachable style grounded in good form, thoughtful progression, and meeting each client where they are. She especially enjoys working with older adults and helping clients maintain the strength, balance, mobility, and confidence that support an active, independent life. For Chrissy, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching someone become stronger and accomplish something they once thought was beyond them, and if feet in straps happen to be involved, even better. Outside the studio, she stays active with basketball, pickleball, and swimming, loves fishing with her husband, and spends as much time outdoors and with family as she can. Chrissy is currently welcoming new private clients during morning and early afternoon hours.

Hope Sowle

Hope’s background in movement began with 13 years of competitive swimming, followed by collegiate rowing at Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and a master’s in Educational Technology and Applied Learning Sciences. Throughout her athletic career, recurring injuries related to joint hypermobility led her to explore more sustainable ways to build strength and move comfortably. Pilates became the first form of exercise she felt she could practice every day, inspiring her to pursue comprehensive contemporary teacher training through Club Pilates in Pittsburgh, with over 500 hours of studio experience. Her personal experience with hypermobility shapes her interest in joint stability, controlled movement, and helping clients build strength without sacrificing mobility. She also enjoys TRX suspension training, which remains a regular part of her own exercise routine. Now living on the Olympic Peninsula, Hope brings her background in athletics and cognitive science to Perfect Balance, emphasizing thoughtful instruction, body awareness, and an understanding of why each movement matters. As the studio’s newest instructor, she offers flexible scheduling and welcomes clients for private, duet, trio, and group sessions.
